"Swede" Swingler is one helluva hero. He was with Regimental HQ company in Sicily. On july 11th 1943 he's walking along Biazzo ridge when he bumps into a bunch of German tanker guys. He throws a grenade at them, killing them all. Next to the bodies he found a huge Tiger I tank of the Herman Goering Panzer Division. The first to be captured by US paratroopers...

My Dad called him "The Square Jawed Swede". He said he was a tough individual and Great Leader. Dad said they were greatly saddened when he was KIA on D-Day. When my Dad took out a German Tank in Sicily, Dad received shrapnel in his back. His Medic dug it out with his knife.

Swede was in the boxing team... no wonder...
